Biography

Whilst attending the Bradford Art School, Yorkshire, Fransella’s work was curated for inclusion in the 2nd British Print Biennial, Bradford, UK. Shortly afterwards the artist travelled to Australia for the first time, returning to settle permanently in the mid 1970s.

Fransella’s exhibiting career began in this country in 1978 with his first solo exhibition at Stuart Gerstmann Galleries, Melbourne.

Since then his work has been exhibited widely both commercially and in institutional exhibitions. In 1993 his work was shown at the Maarstrict Print Biennale, Holland and more recently in 2000 was curated in the exhibition People in a Landscape: Contemporary Australian Prints, which toured South East Asia and Germany.

Fransella’s work is represented in the collection of the National Gallery of Australia, National Gallery of Victoria, Queensland Art Gallery, SAATCHI & SAATCHI, London and numerous other institutional and private collections.
